Dear Fergie. One of my all-time favorite experiences with you took place in Ft. Lauderdale during our road trip in 2014. Do you remember the canals and chewing on the coconut? We walked along the canal until we found a nice place to rest, and we watched the Manatees swim and you found a coconut to shred. You laid in the grass and chewed it up until it was in tatters, and I just sat in the grass with you and took it all in. The warm spring air, the palm trees swaying in the gentle breeze, in April when it was cold and wet back home. We were in Florida. And we drove there. Together.
It was such a simple moment, like so many we had experienced before. You and I were both so happy in that moment. Life felt perfect, as if often did when I was with you. When I was with you, everything was ok with the world. I miss you sweetheart and would give anything for another moment like that.
