Dear Fergie. Do you remember the railroad park in Santa Fe New Mexico? You begrudgingly sat in the flowers so I could take pictures of you, but you were more interested in trying to catch the bugs and investigate the hummingbird moths than have your photo taken. This was pretty typical of most of our photo sessions, which is ironic considering I was a professional pet photographer for 15 years. You were easily my most difficult subject, which is why you quickly became my muse, because I loved a challenge.
While you were squirming and looking away, distracted by all of the wonderful things going on around you, I said the phrase I had uttered so many times during our life together: “Fuuuurrrgeeeeee”.
Your spirit was just too big to contain, and that was always evident when I made you sit still for photos. There were just too many other fun things to do in life, weren’t there my dear girl?
